FAQ

What is Knowledge Exchange?

Knowledge Exchange is generally recognised as a two-way process where academics/universities and companies, organisations and individuals share learning, ideas and experience. By encouraging collaboration and creating dialogues between different sectors, Knowledge Exchange can help all kinds of academic research to influence policy, practice and business and to play a wider role in the public sphere.

What are the benefits of Knowledge Exchange?

It is recognised that Knowledge Exchange initiatives can inform and improve the quality and relevance of academic research, enabling researchers to understand the needs of research users and to apply their expertise to policy, practice, business and social environments.

In turn, it is also recognised that being able to access experts, cutting edge research, and innovative ideas can be enormously valuable not just economically but socially and culturally too.  When exchanged well, research can positively impact upon policy and practice, generating fascinating content, products and approaches that in turn can enhance organisational creativity, performance and productivity.
