In December 2013, The Barbican hosted a very positive inaugural meeting for The Culture Capital Exchange’s early career researcher network. To follow on, TCCE held a meeting of the ECR Network in collaboration with Palgrave Macmillan at their new King’s Cross campus. To open the exciting event, representatives from Palgrave Macmillan gave a practical overview of the range of options for getting research published and offered advice around approaching publishers and pitching ideas.
Following this, ECRs from TCCE member universities had the opportunity to participate in surgery sessions and individual conversations with editors from publications covering a range of disciplines within Humanities and Social Sciences, during which they could either pitch ideas, or ask more detailed questions.
Contributors/Speakers: Suzie Leighton, Director, TCCE; Amy Bourke, Palgrave Macmillan; Paula Kennedy, Head of Humanities, Palgrave Macmillan; Jenny McCall, Publisher for History, Palgrave Macmillan
